about
Moruya, NSW power pub quintet, Nancy and The Jam Fancys release their brand new single “Mirror My Melody” through Endless Recordings with ACT and NSW tour dates to coincide.
“Mirror My Melody” designs to engage as this Far South Coast assembly of young punks follow up their eponymous 2023 debut EP with new material worthy of attention. Upfront Lewis Griffin’s gargling granite baritone appraises chemical temptation, the third in a bizarre love tringle. The Nancys, rally beneath, taught with energy and real on the road momentum, it's urgent and insistent.
Griffin offers that "Mirror My Melody" is, “a hideous view of arrogance, realising it’s hard to not look away. Picking yourself apart leaving no time for observations of what’s going on around you. The Mirror, The sole purpose of your life.”
Captured on little sleep between shows during a lost Melbourne weekend in April, Nancy and The Jam Fancies began tracking an LP of new material with Andrew "Idge" Hehir (The Scientists, Hugo Race, Bad Dreems) at his busy inner-north Melbourne Soundpark studio. The sessions, road tight and imbued with the band’s noticeable charisma and emotional intelligence were delivered to Mikey Young (ECSR, Royal Headache) for mixing and then mastered by Naomune Anzai (Floodlights, Cash Savage, Clamm).
From their hometown of Moruya, NSW, Nancy and The Jam Fancys drew radio attention in early 2023 with their debut Self-Titled EP including the tracks “Carmen Electra” and “Run”. Show with the likes of Jebediah, The Hard Ons, Pist Idiots, Mini-Skirt, Last Quokka and many others saw their live show develop into a far fiercer concern. With the idiosyncratic vocal power of Lewis Griffin, and the band featuring Bryce Mizzi, Alex Blakeney, Brett Muskett and Cody Hopkins creating sparks beneath, Nancy and The Jam Fancys will head back out on the road in support of “Mirror My Melody” this November.
